Song Tao, Director of the Taiwan Affairs Office of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the State Council, stated at the symposium that the tariff war initiated by the United States cannot change the basic trend of stable, resilient, and long-term improvement in the mainland's economic foundation. We have sufficient wisdom and ability to respond to and overcome various challenges. The mainland has always been a strong backing for Taiwanese businesses. We will fully implement the important discourse of General Secretary Xi Jinping on Taiwan work, study and solve the problems and difficulties faced by Taiwanese businesses and enterprises, propose practical and feasible policy measures, implement equal treatment, increase support, strengthen the connection between cross-strait industrial and supply chains, support Taiwanese enterprises to participate in the implementation of major national strategies, assist Taiwanese enterprises in transformation and upgrading, expand domestic demand markets, integrate into the new development pattern, and achieve high-quality development. I hope that Taiwanese businessmen and enterprises will have firm confidence, focus on the long term, actively participate in cross-strait exchanges and cooperation, work together to resist external risks and challenges, jointly strengthen the Chinese national economy, and jointly promote the great cause of national reunification and rejuvenation.

In their speeches, representatives of Taiwanese businessmen attending the meeting stated that the excessive tariffs imposed by the United States have seriously impacted the global trade order, bringing certain pressure and impact to some outward oriented Taiwanese enterprises. Some enterprises are facing challenges such as reduced orders, rising costs, and compressed profit margins in the short term. The institutional advantages and economic resilience of the mainland are the fundamental guarantee to resist risks. In addition, the industrial system is complete, the market space is vast, and the investment and consumption potential is huge. Governments at all levels care about and support Taiwan enterprises in a timely manner. Taiwan businessmen and Taiwan enterprises are confident in overcoming difficulties. They will seize the historical opportunity of comprehensively promoting Chinese path to modernization, actively participate in the cooperation and integrated development of the cross-strait industrial chain supply chain, integrate into the new development pattern, and seek new and greater development opportunities and space. The vast number of Taiwan funded enterprises have always stood together with the mainland, firmly supporting the countermeasures taken by the country against the United States, and have confidence in winning this tariff war with the country and achieving sustained and healthy development on the mainland. Representatives of Taiwanese businessmen attending the meeting put forward opinions and suggestions on encouraging enterprise research and development, assisting in expanding domestic sales, and optimizing cross-border supply chain services.
